Adur Green Party announce candidates for May local elections with "Happy New Year" card

10 March 2021

Have you received our "Happy New Year" 2021 card?

Adur Green Party volunteers will be delivering the card to households in key campaign areas from week commencing 8th March, in line with the latest government guidance and no-contact principles.

The card features our candidates Gabe Crisp and Leslie Groves Williams, pictured on the Old Shoreham Toll Bridge. Gabe Crisp will be standing in the St Nicolas Ward for Adur & Worthing Council, and Leslie Groves Williams in the Shoreham South Division for West Sussex County Council in the 6th May elections.

If you're thinking it's a bit late for New Year wishes, you're right. We had originally planned to deliver these cards at the beginning of the year, however due to the national lockdown we had to put our plans on hold. In a handwritten insert, the candidates say "We know it's a bit late but we didn't want to waste [the cards] ... Please do get in touch to tell us what's important to you using the contact details inside the card. We wish you all the best for the coming Spring and our return to a more normal life."

Now that canvassing for the May local elections is able to start from 8th March, and lockdown restrictions should gradually start to ease between now and the elections, it seems appropriate to distribute this message of best wishes and hope for the rest of the year ahead.
